Individualzed Support
While training builds skills, consulting and coaching build the structures and habits that make culture shift. Lasting change requires changing structures. That's why my consulting focuses on infrastructure, policy, and culture. I work with campuses to launch restorative programs, and to keep them thriving. I also offer direct support in navigating difficult moments in a restorative way.
Organizational Consulting
I help institutions design, launch, and sustain formal Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices programs. This includes infrastructure, policies, and procedures that can make campus RP sustainable.
A typical engagement with me moves through four phases:
Assess- We explore where is your campus now, and ask what are the practices, priorities, policies and personalities that shape your goals?
Design- We collaboratively plan the program architecture, scope, staffing model, referral pathways, policies and protocols, and how the program relates to conduct, Res Life, HR, and academic affairs.
Implement- I train the campus, help stand up the processes, and support you in navigating the first live cases.
Sustain- I provide ongoing coaching for program staff, help with emergent issues, and the adjustments that keep a program healthy. Nothing is more important than sustainability!
Engagements range from short-term design projects to ongoing monthly retainers. Many campuses pair consulting with training so their people and their structures develop together.
I am proud to have played an important supporting role in standing up the restorative practices programs at Haverford and Yale - training their facilitators, advising on program design, and building staff capacity as each launched. Both programs are now well established, and I am still working with them to provide ongoing training and consultation. I work hard to help establish programs that outlast the initial push and continue to grow.
